Barber has a lean, sudden 6-1, 180-pound frame built for separation rather than contested-catch brute force. He tests with elite combine markers — explosive off the line, eats up defensive cushion quickly, and shows the change-of-direction burst to threaten all three levels. The build profiles as a slot/flanker who wins with twitch and acceleration; at 180 pounds he carries room to add 10-15 pounds of functional mass to hold up against press and physical SEC corners without sacrificing his trademark short-area quickness.

Play Style

Barber is a sudden, twitchy playmaker who is most dangerous with the ball in his hands or running past defenders. On film he wins immediately off the snap, accelerates through cushions to create vertical separation, and is a one-cut-and-go open-field runner who makes the first defender miss and gets to the second level. Offenses manufactured touches for him via jet sweeps, fly motion, and screens to leverage his acceleration, and he flashes the body control to adjust on deep balls. His tendency is to attack space — a stretch-and-take-off threat whose every reach can become an explosive play.

• Full route-tree polish and contested-catch consistency — much of his production came on schemed touches (jets, screens, vertical shots); developing intermediate breaks, tempo manipulation, and 50-50 ball-tracking will round out his game as a true every-down outside option

College Projection

Projects as a slot/Z field-stretcher and designed-touch playmaker who should see early rotational snaps as a true freshman in Kiffin's spread, vertical-tempo system at LSU, with a realistic path to a starting/featured role by year two. Special-teams return value (kick/punt) is a likely early avenue to the field while he develops physically and adds route polish against SEC defensive backs.

NFL Outlook

Carries legitimate NFL upside as a draftable Day 2-3 type if the development arc holds — the combination of explosive testing, RAC traits, and big-program production is the foundation scouts covet in modern slot/movement receivers. His ceiling hinges on adding play strength, mastering the full route tree, and proving he can separate and finish against press man at the highest level; if he does, a mid-round-or-better projection is in range, with gadget/return value providing a positional floor.
