LEAD STORY: Kentucky Credits Its Practice Habits for the Upset at Texas A&M
Kentucky is still talking about its win at Texas A&M, and the Wildcats say it didn't start on Saturday. Speaking to ESPN, the Kentucky head coach looked back on the upset in College Station and said it came from a strong week of practice. He also traced it further back, to work the Wildcats did in the offseason.
That message matters because of where the win came from. Winning on the road at Kyle Field is one of the hardest jobs in the SEC. When a coach points to practice habits and offseason work instead of one big play or one great half, he's telling his team the result can happen again. The next test is whether Kentucky can keep playing that way once the excitement of a road upset wears off.
Other SEC programs are heading into big weeks with lessons of their own. Oklahoma's head coach told ESPN that the Sooners have to fix "fundamental mistakes" and play more consistently, and they have to do it on the road against No. 2 Georgia. In Starkville, No. 24 Mississippi State is getting a payoff from a patient plan at quarterback. The Bulldogs' head coach told ESPN that keeping Kamario Taylor on the sideline to learn in 2025 was valuable for his development. Taylor now leads Mississippi State into its game against No. 19 Missouri.

Texas basketball gets its own docuseries. Texas Athletics announced "Texas Rising Presented by St. David's HealthCare," a four-part series that gives viewers an all-access look at Texas men's basketball.
Tennessee women's hoops heads to Fort Myers. Event promoter bdG Sports named Tennessee to the 2026 field of the 14th annual Coconut Hoops tournament in Fort Myers, Florida. Seven schools will play over Thanksgiving weekend.
Auburn softball returns to Clearwater. Auburn will play in the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic presented by MaxBP for the second straight season. The event runs Feb. 11-14, 2027, at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida.
