LEAD STORY: Florida Hosts South Carolina for Homecoming as Both Programs Come Off Very Different Weeks
The Florida Gators return to Gainesville on Saturday for their Homecoming game against South Carolina. The University Athletic Association announced Wednesday that all gates will open at 10:45 a.m., two hours before kickoff. The game, presented by Renewal by Andersen, also includes a half-off concessions special for fans who arrive early.
The two teams come into the matchup in very different form. Florida is coming off one of Week 5's most surprising results. According to an SB Nation staff pick'em column, Missouri beat Florida by 28 points at Faurot Field, a result none of that column's six staffers picked, even with Missouri getting 5.5 points. South Carolina, meanwhile, took a close one from Kentucky: the Wildcats forced overtime, and the Gamecocks won by a single point on a 2-point conversion.
The same column lists Florida as a 13.5-point favorite over South Carolina, using FanDuel lines pulled on Monday. That number may have moved since. Florida's offense needs to bounce back after the loss in Columbia, and South Carolina has already shown it can win a close game. Both make this one of the more interesting conference games of the weekend.

GAMES TO WATCH
No SEC games are scheduled for Wednesday. Saturday's slate has seven SEC-vs-SEC matchups, with two conference teams on byes. Point spreads below are FanDuel lines from Monday, as listed in the SB Nation staff pick'em column. They may have changed since.
- Georgia at Alabama: The closest line of the week, with Alabama favored by 1.5. Georgia beat Vanderbilt by 24 in Week 5.
- Texas vs. Oklahoma: Texas is a 7.5-point favorite in the Red River matchup.
- Texas A&M at Missouri: Missouri is favored by 3.5 after its 28-point win over Florida.
- South Carolina at Florida: Florida is favored by 13.5 in the Homecoming game.
- Tennessee at Arkansas: The Volunteers are 13.5-point road favorites.
- Ole Miss at Vanderbilt: Ole Miss is favored by 10.5. Vanderbilt is coming off a Week 5 loss to Georgia in which it covered the 24.5-point spread.
- LSU at Kentucky: Kentucky hosts LSU one week after taking South Carolina to overtime.
The column's six staffers didn't agree unanimously on any game this week, which says a lot about how hard this slate is to call.
