Despite the loss, Auburn's Alyssa Hastings continued to prove she is one of the most formidable hitters in the SEC. Hastings was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, including a solo home run in the bottom of the first that accounted for Auburn's first run. Her performance was a masterclass in hitting, as she also drew a walk, reaching base in all four of her plate appearances. Hastings is now hitting a blistering .550 in nine conference games, a remarkable feat against elite SEC pitching.
However, Hastings' individual brilliance underscored a larger issue for the Auburn Tigers: a lack of consistent offensive support around her. Outside of her three hits, the rest of the Auburn lineup managed just three other singles. While Daigle Wilson and Mckaela Walker each contributed an RBI, Auburn couldn't string together the big innings needed to overcome the early deficit. For Auburn to climb out of the bottom third of the SEC standings, the bats surrounding Hastings will need to provide more consistent run production to capitalize on her efforts.

This three-game sweep is a significant momentum builder for the Missouri Tigers. Improving to 4-5 in the conference, Missouri moves into the crowded middle tier of the SEC, creating separation from the teams at the bottom.
