LEAD STORY: LSU Secondary Gets Good News Ahead of Texas A&M Clash
LSU received a significant lift on Thursday's injury report ahead of Saturday night's home matchup with Texas A&M. Safety Tamarcus Cooley, listed as questionable on Wednesday's initial report, has been completely removed from the injury report and is set to go. That's massive news for the Tigers' secondary — Cooley profiles as the replacement at the STAR position for Dashawn Spears, who is done for the year with a torn ACL. With Cooley healthy, Jhase Thomas can slide into Cooley's previous role, keeping LSU's defensive backfield rotation intact.
The good news didn't stop there. Cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson was upgraded from doubtful to questionable, adding potential depth to a secondary that needs it. LSU will still be without Trey'Dez Green, Spears, and Phillip Wright III.
