Teams: Georgia Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. (05/29/2026) — The Georgia Bulldogs turned a single swing of power into a blueprint Friday night, riding five home runs and a shutdown effort from the bullpen to a 6-2 win over the Liberty Flames before 3,633 fans at Foley Field.

Georgia never trailed, weathering an early Liberty rally and then pulling away one long ball at a time. The Bulldogs went deep in four separate innings, with the final blow coming in the bottom of the ninth.

How It Happened

Georgia wasted no time. In the bottom of the first, Daniel Jackson launched a two-run homer to right, scoring T. Phelps and staking the Bulldogs to a 2-0 lead.

Liberty answered immediately. Jordan Jaffe singled to center to bring home Tanner Marsh, trimming the deficit to 2-1. Moments later, N. Barone grounded into a fielder's choice that retired J. Sorenson at second, and Jaffe came around to score on a throwing error by second baseman Ryan Wynn, knotting the game at 2-2.

That tie did not last. In the third, Kenny Ishikawa homered to right to put Georgia back in front 3-2, and Wynn followed with a solo shot to center — a personal answer to his earlier miscue — to make it 4-2. The Bulldogs tacked on in the sixth when Rylan Lujo homered to left for a 5-2 cushion, then capped the night in the ninth as Brennan Hudson drove a solo homer to left for the 6-2 final.
