NORMAN, Okla. (11/01/2026) — Bo Aldridge scored 22 points and the East Texas A&M Lions never surrendered the lead they built in the first half, walking out of Lloyd Noble Center with a 68-64 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday in front of 4,647.
The Lions won it from beyond the arc, hitting 41 percent of their three-point attempts while Oklahoma connected on just 25 percent. East Texas A&M shot 44 percent from the floor overall to the Sooners' 40 percent, and its 17 assists — five from Aldridge — kept the offense humming even through a second half in which Oklahoma made three separate pushes at the lead.
How It Happened
The game opened as a shootout. Khani Rooths buried a 23-footer off a Pop Isaacs feed just 12 seconds in, and Alonzo Dodd answered with back-to-back threes to put East Texas A&M in front 8-7 by the 16:56 mark. Dayton Forsythe's 27-footer briefly returned the lead to Oklahoma, but Mohamed Diakite's dunk tied it at 10, and the Lions pulled away from there.
Maxime Carrio and Aldridge stretched the margin with deep threes — Aldridge's 28-footer at 4:50 made it 29-21 — and Dodd's third triple of the half, a 26-footer off a Thomas Duchamp assist, pushed the lead to nine. East Texas A&M took a 34-25 advantage into the break.
The Lions came out of the locker room firing. Aldridge hit a 23-footer off a Gasper Skorjanc assist, Diakite followed with a three of his own, and Dodd's fourth triple of the night made it 43-27 with 17:23 to play — the largest lead of the game at 16.
Turning Point
Oklahoma answered with its best stretch of the afternoon, a 13-0 run that threatened to flip the game. Isaacs started it with a 27-foot three at 15:43, Derrion Reid followed with a triple off an Isaacs assist, and Tyler Hendricks' dunk at 13:51 trimmed the deficit to 43-40.
Aldridge ended the run himself. His 24-foot three off another Skorjanc feed at 13:39 stretched the lead back to six, and Duchamp's dunk at 12:03 made it 48-40. That 12-second answer proved to be the hinge of the game — Oklahoma got within four on an Isaacs three at 8:48, but never drew even. Duchamp's 27-footer at 6:54 restored a six-point cushion, Diakite's dunk off an Aldridge assist made it 66-60 with 1:12 left, and Aldridge iced it at the free-throw line with three seconds remaining.
Star of the Game
Aldridge did a bit of everything for East Texas A&M, finishing with 22 points, five assists and three rebounds. Beyond his own scoring — including three second-half triples and the clinching free throws — he set up three of Dodd's threes and Carrio's first-half triple, and his assist on Diakite's late dunk effectively sealed the result. Diakite and Dodd added 15 points apiece, with Diakite grabbing seven rebounds.
For Oklahoma, Isaacs led the way with 15 points and three assists, while Reid posted a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. Duke Brennan chipped in nine points and Rooths added seven.
What It Means
This is a tough one for the Oklahoma Sooners to absorb at home. The three-point line told the story — a 25 percent night from deep against an opponent that made 16 combined triples possible — and the Sooners managed just 12 assists to the Lions' 17 despite an even turnover battle at 15 apiece. Reid's double-double and the fight shown during the 13-0 second-half run are genuine positives, but Oklahoma will need better perimeter shooting and ball movement as the 2026 season unfolds.
For the East Texas A&M Lions, this is a signature road result — a four-point win over an SEC opponent in its own building, earned by weathering every Oklahoma push. Aldridge's shot-making, Dodd's four threes and balanced scoring from Diakite and Duchamp gave the Lions answers at every critical juncture.
