Alabama alum Montana Fouts did it exactly the way she did it a year ago. The four-time All-American threw a complete game Sunday at Davis Diamond in College Station, Texas, leading the Utah Talons past the Chicago Bandits 6-1 in Game 2 to clinch a second straight Athletes Unlimited Softball League championship.
It is the second consecutive season Fouts has closed out an AUSL title with a full seven innings of work — a rare feat in a professional league built around depth and matchup pitching, and one that reinforces her standing as the sport's most reliable big-game arm. Chicago managed a single run against her across the deciding game.
Fouts had help. Jadelyn Allchin drove in three of Utah's six runs, per D1Softball, giving the Talons the cushion Fouts needed to work efficiently. Alabama's presence in the professional softball landscape continues to be defined by Fouts, whose postseason résumé now includes back-to-back AUSL crowns to go with her four All-America selections in Tuscaloosa.

Goodwin went 9-for-19 from the field and 5-for-9 from 3, scoring five straight points to put La Familia ahead 67-63.
