Teams: Georgia Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. (03/23/2026) — The Kennesaw State Owls built a commanding lead and withstood a late-game surge to secure a 10-7 road victory over the Georgia Bulldogs on Monday night at Foley Field.

Kennesaw State’s offense methodically applied pressure from the early innings, scoring in six of the final eight frames. The Owls broke a scoreless tie in the second inning when Aaron Posey grounded out to drive in a run. They tacked on another in the third on an RBI single and extended their lead to 4-0 in the fourth with a run-scoring single from Grayson McCollum and an RBI fielder's choice by Trenton Lyons.

After a scoreless fifth, Posey ignited the Kennesaw State offense again in the sixth with a solo home run to right field, pushing the score to 5-0.

Turning Point: Owls Erupt in Seventh

The game broke open in the top of the seventh inning. With a five-run lead, the Kennesaw State offense mounted a decisive four-run rally that ultimately put the game out of reach. James McGee delivered the key blow with a two-run double to left field. Later in the frame, McCollum singled to drive in two more runs, both unearned, extending the Owls' advantage to a commanding 9-0.

Georgia’s offense, held scoreless for six innings, finally answered in the bottom half of the inning. Bryce Calloway started the rally with a solo home run, followed shortly by a two-run homer from Kolby Branch. An RBI single from Jack Arcamone capped a four-run frame for the Bulldogs, cutting the deficit to 9-4.

Kennesaw State added a crucial insurance run in the eighth, scoring on an error to make it 10-4. The Bulldogs continued to fight back in the bottom of the eighth, loading the bases and scoring on an RBI walk. Arcamone followed with a two-run single to center, bringing Georgia within three at 10-7, but the comeback effort stalled there.

Star Performers

Kennesaw State showcased a balanced offensive attack. Grayson McCollum led the way, going 2-for-4 with a team-high 3 RBI. Leadoff hitter Colby Williams was a constant presence on the basepaths, finishing 2-for-3 with two walks and scoring three of the Owls' ten runs. Aaron Posey contributed a home run and 2 RBI.

For the Georgia Bulldogs, Jack Arcamone was a bright spot in the lineup, going 2-for-2 with 3 RBI after entering the game. Ryan Wynn also had a productive night, finishing 2-for-2 and scoring twice. Bryce Calloway and Kolby Branch each provided a late-inning home run.

On the mound, Kennesaw State starter Ty Bayer navigated 4.2 innings, allowing four runs while striking out four. Reliever Nolan Sliver was effective in his two innings of work, allowing just one hit and no runs with one strikeout. Georgia utilized seven different pitchers, with starter Thomas Ellisen striking out five over 3.0 innings while allowing two runs.

What It Means

For Kennesaw State, the victory marks a significant non-conference win over an SEC opponent on the road, providing a major boost as the Owls move through their season. Their offense demonstrated its ability to produce consistently against a Power Five pitching staff.

For Georgia, the loss is a challenging mid-week result at home. While the late offensive awakening showed the lineup's potential, the inability to slow down the Kennesaw State attack for most of the contest will be a point of emphasis. The Bulldogs will look to regroup and find more consistency on the mound before their next conference matchup.
