GAINESVILLE, Fla. (11/04/2026) — Kiyomi McMiller delivered one of the most explosive individual performances of the early women's basketball season, pouring in 42 points to power the Florida Gators to a commanding 95-65 victory over the UCF Knights at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on Wednesday night.

## How It Happened

UCF drew first blood when Mahogany Chandler-Roberts converted a layup just 16 seconds into the game, but the Knights' lead was short-lived. McMiller answered immediately with a 27-foot three-pointer at the 9:06 mark of the first quarter, sparking a Florida surge. Jade Weathersby extended the advantage with a deep three off a Vanessa Harris assist, and McMiller added another long-range bomb — this one from 29 feet — to push Florida's lead to 19-13 before the first quarter closed at 20-17.

The second quarter is where the Gators separated themselves. After Vivian Iwuchukwu opened the period with a layup, Florida began constructing a wall that UCF could not scale. McMiller hit her third three-pointer of the half at the 5:31 mark to push the lead to 32-21, and the Gators followed with a devastating 11-0 run. Harris drained a 25-footer, then Moriah Murray buried back-to-back three-pointers — from 23 and 25 feet, respectively — to balloon the Florida advantage to 48-24 before UCF scored again. The Knights pulled within two possessions at 48-28 on a Chandler-Roberts layup before halftime, but the damage was done. Florida entered the break with a commanding lead.

The third quarter saw Florida continue to control tempo. Iwuchukwu opened the period with another layup, and the Gators steadily extended the margin. Vittoria Blasigh kept UCF within reach with a pair of three-pointers — including one late in the third — but Florida's lead held at 67-43 entering the fourth.

The Gators closed out efficiently in the final period. McMiller continued her remarkable night, adding three more three-pointers in the fourth quarter — from 27, 30, and 23 feet — to reach her final total of 42. Florida finished at 95-65.

## Turning Point

The decisive sequence came midway through the second quarter. With Florida leading 37-24 and momentum beginning to feel within reach for UCF, the Gators went on an 11-0 run that effectively ended the competitive portion of the game. Harris hit from deep, then Murray connected on consecutive three-pointers in the span of 44 seconds to push the Florida lead to 24 points. UCF never recovered, and Florida never allowed the margin to dip below 19 points the rest of the way.

## Star of the Game

Kiyomi McMiller's 42-point night stands as the defining performance of the contest. McMiller was relentless from beyond the arc, drilling long-range three-pointers throughout all four quarters — from 27, 29, 26, 25, 27, 30, and 23 feet at various moments — and added 6 rebounds and an assist. She provided the offensive anchor that allowed Florida's depth and athleticism to wear down UCF across 40 minutes.

Iwuchukwu complemented McMiller's output with 20 points, while Jade Weathersby posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Vanessa Harris added 9 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Florida's rebounding dominance — 49 boards to UCF's 25 — proved as impactful as McMiller's scoring explosion.

For UCF, Chandler-Roberts led all Knights with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Blasigh contributed 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, connecting on three three-pointers herself. Caitlyn Jones added 10 points and distributed 4 assists.

## What It Means

For the Florida Gators, the blowout victory signals a potent offensive identity built around McMiller's range and scoring volume, supported by a team-wide rebounding advantage that could pose problems for opponents throughout the season. Shooting 42% from three-point range as a team while outrebounding an opponent by 24 boards is a formula that travels.

For the UCF Knights, Wednesday's result highlights early-season areas that need attention — particularly limiting transition opportunities and tightening ball security after committing 15 turnovers. Chandler-Roberts and Blasigh showed enough individual firepower to suggest the Knights have scoring capability, but the gap in rebounding and defensive execution proved too wide to overcome against a Florida team that exploited every opening.
