## LEAD STORY: Kentucky Takes Down No. 10 LSU in Overtime

Kentucky beat No. 10 LSU 35-34 in overtime at Kroger Field, and the winning play wasn't one the coaches drew up. On the two-point try that decided the game, quarterback Kenny Minchey kept the ball and ran it in. Kentucky's head coach later told Wildcats radio voice Tom Leach that the play was **not** a designed QB draw. Minchey made the decision on his own. Leach's call spread quickly on social media: *"He can run it and he does!!! Two points and Kentucky wins the game in overtime… and they're on the field."*

The win came a week after Kentucky dropped out of the Top 25, even though the Wildcats had won on the road in SEC play. The SEC Network noted that Kentucky has now won two straight games in overtime, both on two-point conversions. Fans covered the field afterward, and ESPN showed the scene in Lexington. Reaction poured in from across the sport. Pat McAfee, whose ESPN set had unanimously picked LSU on Saturday, called it "an absolutely glorious win for Kentucky." Scott Van Pelt summed up the field-storming: "Kentucky says, we'll pay the fine." David Pollack noted that playing in Lexington "continues to be spooky" for LSU.

The result also changed some postseason projections. 247Sports' Brad Crawford's updated College Football Playoff projection has Kentucky as the No. 11 seed, playing at No. 6 Indiana. His projection also puts Alabama at No. 4, Georgia at No. 2, Texas at No. 8 and Ole Miss at No. 10. Kentucky's football social media team got in a jab of its own, posting a photoshopped version of an LSU graphic that read: "LSU's defense hasn't seen anyone like us or our offensive line yet." For LSU, the loss is a costly SEC road defeat in the middle of the season.
