ST. LOUIS, Mo. (11/05/2026) — The Saint Louis Billikens turned in one of the more complete performances of the early season Thursday night, connecting on 56 percent of their three-point attempts and distributing the ball with precision to defeat the Missouri Tigers 90-84 at Enterprise Center before a crowd of 18,011.

## Result

Saint Louis built a commanding first-half lead and held off a persistent Missouri push, winning 90-84 behind a balanced scoring attack that put four players in double figures. The Billikens shot 52 percent from the field overall and generated 24 assists against just 10 turnovers — numbers that told the story of a team operating with remarkable efficiency. Missouri's Bryson Tiller put together a spectacular individual effort, but the Tigers' 41 percent field goal shooting and 33 percent mark from three left too much ground to recover.

## How It Happened

Missouri opened the scoring on a Bryson Tiller free throw, but Saint Louis answered within 40 seconds. Ishan Sharma buried a 26-foot three-pointer off an Amari McCottry assist to even the score at 3-3, and the Billikens never looked back.

McCottry converted a 23-footer off a Trey Green feed at 17:57 to put Saint Louis ahead 7-5, then Green hit back-to-back threes — a 27-footer and a 30-footer — to push the lead out to 13-7. Missouri continued to fight, with Mark Mitchell Jr. connecting from 23 feet and Tiller scoring on consecutive possessions, but Quentin Jones answered with a 24-footer from the right wing and then a 25-footer to keep Saint Louis comfortably ahead.

The Billikens closed the first half on a surge. McCottry hit his second three of the half, Jones added another from 23 feet, and Green buried a 26-footer with 1:46 remaining to push the advantage to 47-36. Tiller's pull-up jumper at the buzzer trimmed it to 49-38, but Saint Louis carried a double-digit edge into the break.

Missouri opened the second half with back-to-back Mitchell Jr. baskets to cut the lead to seven, but Sharma answered immediately with a 26-footer off a Jones feed to push it back to ten. McCottry followed with a dunk, Cam Hutson extended the margin further with a 25-foot three-pointer, and Sharma added another three to push the Saint Louis lead to 64-50 with just over 14 minutes remaining.

Missouri ground away at the deficit through the final stretch, with Tiller and Mitchell Jr. leading the charge, but the Billikens' efficiency held. Saint Louis closed it out 90-84.

## Turning Point

Trey Green's back-to-back bombs in the opening eight minutes of the first half — a 27-footer and then a 30-footer that pushed the lead from 7-5 to 13-7 — set the tone for the entire night. Those two possessions signaled that Saint Louis would not be rattled on its home court, and Missouri never found a consistent answer for the Billikens' perimeter attack. Saint Louis finished 23 percentage points better than the Tigers from three-point range.

## Star of the Game

Saint Louis spread the work across four contributors, but Amari McCottry's two-way impact stood out. He finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists — connecting on three-pointers while also creating for teammates throughout. McCottry's 23-footer early in the first half helped ignite the Billikens' three-point barrage, and his two assists to Sharma in the second half helped Saint Louis push the lead back to double digits whenever Missouri threatened.

Trey Green (16 points, 6 assists) was equally vital, providing both shot creation and playmaking from the backcourt. Ishan Sharma added 17 points, and Quentin Jones contributed 14 points and five assists.

For Missouri, Bryson Tiller was exceptional in defeat — 26 points on a varied offensive diet including three-pointers, a dunk, and a pull-up jumper, along with nine rebounds. Mark Mitchell Jr. added 21 points and Jamier Jones posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Tigers simply couldn't generate enough consistent offense around those performers.

## What It Means

For the Saint Louis Billikens, this is a statement result at a premier venue. Shooting 52 percent from the field and 56 percent from three against an SEC opponent, while generating 24 assists on what was clearly a connected offensive system, indicates a team with real depth and structure heading into the season.

For the Missouri Tigers, the 90-84 defeat exposes a perimeter gap that will draw attention. Missouri outrebounded Saint Louis 45-35 — a meaningful edge — but those advantages were offset by shooting disparities that proved decisive. The Tigers will need sharper three-point defense and improved offensive efficiency as conference play draws closer.
