ATHENS, Ga. (06/06/2026) — In a wild back-and-forth affair at Foley Field, the Georgia Bulldogs outlasted the Mississippi State Bulldogs 11-9 in 10 innings on Saturday night, powered by a walk-off two-run home run from Daniel Jackson in the top of the 10th.

Georgia struck early and built what looked like a comfortable lead, only to see Mississippi State storm back with a relentless power display to seize the lead in the eighth. But the home-standing Bulldogs had the final answer, rallying to tie in the ninth before Jackson's decisive blast sent the crowd home happy.

## How It Happened

Georgia set the tone immediately. R. Lujo lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score T. Phelps, and R. Wynn followed with an RBI groundout that plated D. Jackson, staking the home team to a quick 2-0 lead after one inning. Kolby Branch extended the advantage in the second, launching a solo home run to left to make it 3-0.

Mississippi State found its first counterpunch in the bottom of the second. Kevin Milewski hammered a two-run shot to center field after Vytas Valincius reached, cutting the deficit to 4-2. But Georgia's Brennan Hudson answered right back in the third with a towering solo homer to right center, pushing the lead back to three at 5-2.

M. O'Shaughnessy extended the lead in the fourth with a sacrifice fly that scored Lujo, and Phelps added an RBI groundout in the fifth to make it 7-2 Georgia. At that point, the home team appeared firmly in control.

Then the fireworks began.

Valincius jump-started the Mississippi State comeback with a solo home run to right in the sixth. B. Chance followed with an RBI single to left, trimming the margin to 7-4. Branch temporarily stemmed the tide with his second home run of the night — a solo shot to left in the seventh — but Mississippi State refused to go quietly.

Noah Sullivan crushed a two-run homer to right center in the bottom of the seventh, and Jacob Parker went back-to-back with a solo blast to left center. In the span of two at-bats, a comfortable five-run lead had evaporated to a single run at 8-7.

The eighth inning brought the biggest swing of momentum. Parker struck again, this time a two-run shot to center field that scored Ace Reese and gave Mississippi State its first lead of the night at 9-8.

## Turning Point

With Georgia down to its final outs in the ninth, Brennan Hudson delivered in the clutch. His RBI single to right scored K. Ishikawa, knotting the game at 9-9 and forcing extra innings. The hit completed a dramatic rally and set the stage for Jackson's heroics in the 10th.

After Georgia held Mississippi State scoreless in the bottom of the ninth, Daniel Jackson stepped to the plate with Phelps aboard. Jackson unloaded on a pitch and sent it soaring over the left-field fence for a two-run, walk-off home run that sealed the 11-9 victory and touched off a celebration at Foley Field.

## Star of the Game

Kolby Branch was brilliant at the plate for Georgia, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBIs, two home runs, and a walk. His multi-homer night provided critical offense and helped Georgia build its early cushion before the late-game drama unfolded.

Brennan Hudson also had a massive night, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a home run — none bigger than his game-tying single in the ninth. Daniel Jackson finished 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs, punctuated by the walk-off blast.

For Mississippi State, Jacob Parker delivered a monster performance in defeat, going 2-for-6 with two runs scored, three RBIs, and two home runs. Ace Reese added three hits, two runs, and an RBI with a home run, while Vytas Valincius went 2-for-5 with two runs, an RBI, and a home run.

On the mound, Georgia starter Caden Aoki battled through 5.2 innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out nine. Justin Byrd was outstanding in relief, tossing 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings with two strikeouts to earn the win.

## What It Means

The victory gives Georgia a critical series win and bolsters its positioning in the SEC standings as the regular season winds down, demonstrating the resilience and offensive firepower that makes this club dangerous in close games.

For Mississippi State, the loss stings after a furious rally that saw them erase a five-run deficit and take a late lead. The power display — five home runs — showcased the lineup's explosiveness, but the inability to close out the ninth inning and the 10th will leave the visiting Bulldogs searching for answers in the bullpen.
