### Sooner Freshman Makes History

A new standard for power has been set in SEC softball. Oklahoma freshman Kendall Wells launched her 27th home run of the season Tuesday night, establishing a new single-season record for the Southeastern Conference. The historic three-run blast came during the sixth inning of the No. 3 Sooners' 12-3 run-rule victory over Wichita State.

Wells broke the previous conference record in just the 37th game of her collegiate career, continuing a phenomenal debut season. The Sooners, who improved to 35-3, hit four home runs in the contest, bringing their NCAA-leading total to 137. With 17 games still remaining in the regular season, Wells is on pace to challenge not only the Oklahoma program record (34) but also the all-time NCAA single-season mark of 37 home runs.
